Orientation for Online Courses (OOL 001) is a prerequisite for taking your first online course at Walsh College. You have a choice of formats. You may either come to a classroom session, or you may take the orientation course online. Register for OOL 001 through regular registration procedures.
Reminder: If you choose to complete the Orientation for Online Courses online, you can have access to online orientation materials well before the semester starts. Alternatively, "on-site" sessions of the Orientation for Online Courses (OOL 001) will take place before the start of each semester. Please consult the
Orientation Calendar for details.

On-Line Orientation for Online Courses
|
The on-site Orientation for Online Courses (OOL 001) takes place at one of the Walsh campuses. We offer a variety of times and dates to work within your busy schedule. You may want to consider taking the On-Site Orientation if:
- You would prefer to have face to face guidance to learn to use the Walsh Online course platform.
- You have never taken an On-Line course before.
- You are not comfortable exploring computer functionality on your own.
Decide which session will best fit your schedule using the Orientation Calendar, and register for the OOL 001 section of your choice, just as you would register for any other course.

The online version of OOL 001 is only for those students that feel comfortable with computers, the internet and the online environment. Choose to complete this orientation requirement online if:
- You have taken an online course before and feel comfortable in that environment.
- You are comfortable with basic web functions such as links, navigation, bookmarks and printing.
- You are familiar with basic windows functions such as copying and pasting text, resizing windows and saving files.
- You can send and read email with attachments.
To complete the orientation online, you must do the following:
- Register for the Orientation for Online Courses (OOL 001) the same way you register for an academic course--via the registration process.
- After you have officially registered, log in at the
Walsh Online Home Page (Note, please allow 24-48 hours for your registration to process before attempting to log in).
- Your username is the same as your Walsh email username. For example, John Doe's Walsh email address would be jdoe@mail.walshcollege.edu. He would log into the orientation (and subsequent online courses as follows:

- If you do not know your Walsh username, you can obtain it by going to WebAdvisor and clicking on the "Students" button.
- Please click this link to learn about how to get your password for your online course. Generally, new students will have a letter delivered to them via U.S. Mail shortly after registering for courses containing username and password information.
